Approach to payment plan for client project with webstudio

At a glance

The community member is considering using Webstudio for client projects and is unsure about the payment approach. They have two options: 1) let the client create their own account and pay for the plan, or 2) host all client sites on their own account and add the clients as collaborators. The community members are concerned that if they choose option 2 and later decide to stop the plan, the client websites may become unpublished.

In the comments, another community member suggests that for option 2, the best approach would be to create a separate account for each client and transfer the project to their account. This way, if the original community member stops their plan, the client websites will not be affected. The community member also suggests that if the project requires any paid features, the client should be made aware that they will need to subscribe to the paid plan.

Another community member agrees with the previous suggestion and recommends that the original community member purchase the pro plan and then charge their clients, which should be enough to cover the cost of the pro plan. They also suggest sending the clients an admin link so they can make changes to the site or clone it at any time.

Hi. Seems like webstudio will be amazing product and good alternative to webflow. I want to try doing client project with webstudio but not pretty sure how to approach plan payment.

1) Should I let client create his own account and pay for a plan or
2) Should I host all clients sites on my account and add them as collaborators?

If i choose 2 option, will all the clients websites be unpublished if I deciede to stop the plan for myself?

In case 2, to avoid affecting your clients if you want to stop the plan, just create an account for each client and transfer the project to their account. If the project has a blog or needs any other paid features, just let the client know that they will need to subscribe to the paid plan.
Yes what Matheus said though if I were you I'd buy pro and then charge your clients and it'll more than enough to cover the cost of Pro. But send them an admin link so at anytime they can change the site or clone it
