Availability of Right-Click Feature

At a glance

The community members are discussing the availability of right-click functionality in the application. Some members indicate that right-click is already available in certain areas, while others express a desire for right-click options to enable actions like copying, cutting, undoing, and redoing. The discussion also covers the potential benefits of adding a "copy" option to the token dropdown menu, as well as the ability to copy all tokens from one element to another, especially for prototyping and reusing content. The community members suggest that the "copy" functionality should replace existing tokens rather than merge them, as the latter would be too complex. Overall, the community members are advocating for more robust right-click and copy/paste capabilities to streamline their workflow.

heya, wondering when rightclick will get available?

in some places yeah, I bet @ewokee wants right click on canvas and on navigator
to copy/cut/undo/redo etc
We should have done this by now, its super simple to add.
would be so helpful, copy a element, delete it, copy a class
tokens have their own dropdown menu, btw I have no idea why we never added a "copy" there, seems to make sense, usually we copy element with a token together but probably there are use cases to copy just the token

Copy token from instance on canvas/navigator makes very little to no sense
yes but its per token?
oh you mean copy all tokens
i mean how would i copy all tokens to another element
or all these things. i come from bricks where i can even copy conditions
hmm why not copy the element then? do you often have an element on the other side but not the tokens?
how to copy the element atm with rightclick?
not with right click, its just cmd+c, but if we added copy to the context menu, it would be there, then would you still want to have "Copy tokens"?
yes still want
would an immense time saver i guess, especially for prototyping
or lets say you have grid with 3 cards and added some tokens to first and want to have those 2 new tokens on other cards
and you dont want to redo the cards cause they already have content inside
what would you expect would happen once you paste the the tokens, while the target already have some tokens, merge? replace?
replace in best case i would say
from old to new
all other options would be way to complex i think
Could work similar to Figma, including local styles
