Caching airtable data to improve page load speed

At a glance

The community member is experiencing slow load times when loading a list integrated into Airtable, and is looking for tips on how to cache the data and only update when new data is fetched. The comments suggest trying Baserow as an alternative to Airtable, as it may be faster. Other suggestions include using an advanced caching system with Cloudflare, Make.com, and Airtable, but this may also use a lot of API calls. The comments also suggest that the slow load times may be due to fetching too much data without limits and pagination, and that the community member should only fetch the data that users need to see.

Hey guys, i just integrated a list to airtable, and it seems everytime I load the page its making an api call, and the load seems a bit slow. Any tips on how to cache this and only update when there is new data being fetched? thanks

i've used airtable for a while now, not very good as a Webstudio CMS because of speed and API calls. My opinion, try Baserow. If u have questions, i am here to answer πŸ™‚
u can use an advanced caching system with cloudflare, make.com and Airtable, but thats also using a lot of API calls, depening on your CMS data and the timeframe its updated.
fetching every time is fine if the api is fast, you might be fetching too much data, it shouldn't be slow
baserow is something we recommend too though
e.g. if you are fetching all the data without limits and pagination - it will. be slow no matter what
you shouldn't be fetching more than user's need to see
