Can someone tell me how to get the youtube component to start unmuted if starting to play

At a glance

The community members are discussing an issue with video autoplay and muting in Chrome. They note that Chrome protects users by not allowing videos to autoplay unmuted, and this applies to both YouTube and other video players. Some community members are confused about the behavior, as they expected clicking the play button to start the video unmuted. One community member mentions finding a bug where the video is set to autoplay and mute by default, and they are working to fix this issue. There is no explicitly marked answer, but the community members are trying to understand and resolve the problem.

Chrome protects users and doesn't allow any video to autoplay without user interaction unmuted.
This is not only youtube but also any video player.
Also without autoplay?
Because even if I play it by clicking the playbutton, it starts muted?
precisely with autoplay
if you click the button it should start unmuted if you don't have muted option on
I thought so too, but apparently not
I read online that there is also a mute parameter?
I can see it right now too, its a bug, it sets autoplay=1&mute=1 by default, fixing asap
where did you test this, in webstudio cloud?
I just tried in the cloud and it works as expected
Ok I am confused, I just recrated the component and it works as expected
I tried also again, but still got the same problem
Hey there, any news about this topic? I still encounter this bug, my video is muted when I click the button to play it.
Can you share a link with exact reproduction steps? And also which browser you are testing with?
