Change clicking sidebar button behavior so that it hides the "Navigator" panel
At a glance
The community member prefers the Webflow behavior where clicking on sidebar buttons only shows the associated panel, and clicking again hides it. They would like to be able to hide the "Navigator" panel as it takes up a lot of space, especially on smaller monitors.
In the comments, other community members discuss the option to undock the navigator and make it closable, which the original poster was unaware of. However, they feel this is unintuitive and would prefer a dedicated button to pin/unpin the navigator panel.
Some community members suggest that the original poster's preference is due to being used to the Webflow behavior, and that other tools have similar view options. There is also discussion about the potential addition of more view options in the future.
Personally I prefer the Webflow behavior where when you click on the sidebar buttons it will only show the panel associated with that button. If you click the button again it will hide the panel (and doesn't show the "Navigator" panel.
Being able to hide the "Navigator" panel would be nice because it takes up a lot of space especially when you're working on a smaller monitor... I would like to hide it.
But you have to make more click to add some elements in the tree. If personnaly think it’s a good idea IF we would add the ability to have keyboards shortcuts.
@Oleg Isonen Oh no I didn't know about that. That's exactly what I was looking for.
I feel like that's very unintuitive though. I feel like it would be better to have a button like a pin/unpin button next to the close button in the "Navigator" panel.
Yeah. I think it's fine to leave it how it is since there's an option for it. Users coming from webflow might not be able to find it right away though. When the global search is added if this option shows up in there that would help a lot.
