Cloudflare and speed tests on different locations.
At a glance
The community member is experiencing slower website speeds for their EU location compared to their US location, despite using Cloudflare. The community members discuss potential solutions, including:
- Reducing the number of fonts being loaded, as this can significantly impact performance.
- Caching dynamic data loaded from Notion's US-based servers more aggressively to improve EU performance.
- Potentially switching to a different CMS if the Notion integration continues to cause issues.
The community members also suggest running multiple speed tests, as the results can vary, and provide some additional tips for improving the website's performance.
hey guys, i am testing the speed on the Webstudio Site https://www.festspiele-balver-hoehle.de/ The Google Speed test ist fine, the GTmetrix score is ok aswell. The strange thing is, with a US location, the Scores are around 90. With a EU location, it's about 65-70. Cloudflare is activated aswell.
The clients are mostly in Germany. Is there a way to make the EU location better?
Fix that and rerun tests.. there will be a huge improvement. If you still want to improve after that, let me know when and I'll see what else can be done
BTW I see you're using Ani Motion! Sweet. Your accordions are choppy because there is a default margin. Remove the default margin on Item Content and it'll be butter
Thanks for the Tipps John π i found out that the speed iusse is the dynamic Data loaded by Notion from the US AWS Cloud Servers. I am trying now to find a way to get rid of this problem via Cloudflare caching, but i think i need to switch the CMS away from Notion..
i searched for different Server Locations but all i found was Forum posts with the same problem. Only AWS Server in the US.
But the Cloudflare cache for dynamic Data solved the problem in my case. But depending on my other struggle with the rich-text format i think i need to switch.
