Components

At a glance

A community member is excited about the direction of Webstudio and has a question about components. They are interested in bringing the Tailwind crowd to Webstudio. Another community member responds, thanking the founder for engaging with the community and expressing excitement about Webstudio's potential. They mention reading about Webstudio's "native extensibility" and components, and offer to help with marketing. The founder responds that they are holding off on opening up the public API for components, as they want to move fast and change things quickly. Once ready, they will create documentation for how everyone can create components.

Hi,can you explain the question pls?
Wao thank you for responding Oleg! I means a lot when the founder is jumping into community convos!

Congrats on the launch. Webstudio is shaping up to be something really incredible and from the heart I hope you grow to rival webflow, framer and other giants in the ecosystem!!

I read on your blog details about extinsibility and components. In particular, this section peaked my interest:

"Native ExtensibilityWebstudio is developed around the concept of "native extensibility," which allows every community member to add features as if they were built into the platform through components and plugins. There are two types of integrations you can implement:Components β€” Extensibility on CanvasWith component integration, you can install any third-party library component like Tailwind"

On a side note, I'd love to help you with the marketing side of the platform (My background in in WaaS startups (YCode, Breakdance, Bricks Builder etc) Do you mind if I DM you some marketing stuff?
regarding components, we haven't opened up the documetnation and public api yet, to see how they are built now checkout https://github.com/webstudio-is/webstudio-builder/tree/main/packages/sdk-components-react
We are holding off with the public api for this, since we move fast and want to change things fast
Once we are ready, we will create documentation for public api and how everyone can create components
Also interested in this and Tailwind.
