CSS gradient not behaving like normal color

At a glance
I dont know if this is a bug or just the way safari works and for some people it may be irelevant but for me it is very nice when it shows like it is suppose to... So safari shows the page background color in the space that was previously just white and it looks great. When i use normal color then it shows OK but when I put CSS variable from MIT it defaults to white...

Could you share a project link please?
How to reproduce the issue?
like in my OP.. if you put BG color on the body it works and you get image one result (top and bottom browser picks up that color) but if you put gradient like var(--gradient-23), you get image 2 result (white background on the top and the bottom of the page). I know that is not the part of the page itself but safari is suppose to pick it up and make the whole mood of the page more effective. So I just ask if that is safari not picking up css or is it something in webstudio...
I think safari just does not pick up background-image
You can use non-transparent gradient and specify background-color on body so safari pick it up
