fonts in templates

At a glance

The community members discuss the best practices for using fonts in template sections. The original poster asks if an uploaded font used in a template section would be included when the section is used. The comments suggest that using system fonts is ideal to avoid creating more work for the user, but in some cases, a custom font may be essential for the template. The community members recommend against using custom fonts, and suggest setting the font on the body element if a custom font is needed, as the inserted section will only copy the instances inside the body, not the body's styles.

for creating template sections, I think it would be best practice to ensure sections are using default system fonts. If I were to use an uploaded font within a template, would that uploaded font be included in the section template?

This is essentially the same question as with copy/pasting instances with fonts between projects - yes
ideally is to not use any non-system fonts to not create more work for the user
but you know in some cases font can be essential for the template so author will want it to be part of the template
k, for swiper template i'm working on, I'm going to opt out of using custom imported fonts. I think for this style template it makes sense for user to be able to choose template and inherit font selection from their project.
if you want to use some font on the template but not have it when user inserts the section to their project you can set the font on the body
insertion will only copy instances inside the body, but not what's on the body
got it, thanks for clarification
