A community member praises Webstudio's open-source approach and pricing, and suggests adding a way to export or sync Webstudio sites with GoHighLevel (GHL), as GHL's builder is not great. The Webstudio team responds that they will add HTML paste support soon, which can be used as an interoperability format between platforms. The community member clarifies if this means they can embed GHL features directly into Webstudio sites, and expresses concerns about maintaining GHL's functionality while building on Webstudio. The Webstudio team explains that the issue is about getting structured data from pasted HTML, not just embedding it. Another community member advises against relying on a single platform for CRM, ecommerce, and memberships, and suggests exploring other options in the future.
First off, amazing job with Webstudio! The open-source approach and the pricing are fantastic—if you keep it this way, you’ll become the best website builder out there.
I know it’s not your main focus right now since you’re still working on other features, but I was wondering if in the future you might consider adding a way to export (plugin ?) Webstudio sites into GoHighLevel or create some kind of sync between the two platforms?
GHL’s builder is honestly not great, and this feature could help Webstudio attract a HUGE number of users—agencies, marketers, and business owners—who are already on GHL but are frustrated with its builder.
Hi! Thanks for the quick reply. Just to clarify—does "HTML paste support" mean we’ll be able to embed things like GHL forms or other features directly into Webstudio sites?
Also, sorry if my question seems basic—I don’t have much dev knowledge, so I don’t always understand the limitations of these kinds of integrations.
By the way, I once made a Reddit post about switching from GHL’s builder to Webstudio because I love the UI and the ability to export full HTML/CSS/JS. But what’s holding me back is figuring out if I can still use all of GHL’s features especially e-commerce and memberships, wich are native integration from ghl seamlessly on a Webstudio site. My goal is to have all GHL functionality while building better-designed sites on Webstudio (and keep all data on ghl).
You can embed html/css via html embed component today. That's not the issue. The issue is to be able to paste html but get structured data, meaning instances etc that you can select on canvas and continue working on them using visual builder instead of typing html
After a while of working with GHL, we are using it as a CRM, I think this is not a great product and don't recommend sticking with it, we will be exploring other options in the future.
I would generally advice against putting crm and ecommerce aand memberships all in one system. Simply because there is no one great product that can do all these things.
Thanks a lot for the detailed answer! I'm using GHL as a white-label agency, so I kinda rely on some of its features to resell them to my clients. I agree that GHL isn't the best in every domain (when you try to do everything, you often don't excel at anything), but for now, I have to stick with it. In the future, I might follow your advice and explore using GHL for basic tasks like forms, automations, emailing, and client management, while relying on another platform for more complex needs such as e-commerce and memberships. Thanks again for the clarification, and keep up the amazing work with Webstudio, it definitely has the potential to become the #1 website builder!
