Hover over values shows tooltip with full name of value?

At a glance

The community members discuss the potential benefit of adding a tooltip that displays the full name of a value when hovering over it, as variable names are often longer than the input field can show. Some community members suggest that this could be helpful, but others note that it may sometimes give the impression that a variable has not been added. The discussion also touches on the issue of long values, such as clamp, not fitting well in the input field. The community members explore different options for quickly accessing the full value, with a tooltip being one obvious solution. A community member also mentions a related discussion on Discord.

Useful resources
I wonder if there's benefit to adding a tooltip that shows the full name of the value when you hover over, with variables these are often longer than the input field shows them, would be easier to see which variables are being used etc.

first thing we want to do is to stop showing var( while the input is not focused yet, though this may still be not enough
that would be pretty cool - although it may sometimes trick me thinking "oh hey i haven't put a variable in this field" lol
then again - if you were just showing the value, with values like clamp it would still be too long for the input field
--text is still having the dashes
yeah, there can always be a long value
the question is how to quickly get a full value
tooltip is one option obviously
