How to duplicate and move blocks on webstudio

At a glance

The community member has a question about how to duplicate a whole block and move it on Webstudio so they can reuse it elsewhere on the page they are building. The first community member responds that they can create a new box, put the content to be duplicated into that box, and then copy and paste the box to reuse it in the same page, a different page in the same Webstudio project, or even a different Webstudio project. Another community member suggests using Webstudio's slot components to keep the duplicate synced with the original.

Hello, first thank you guys for the amazing work at Webstudio.is but I have a question: How can I duplicate a whole block and move it on Webstudio so I can reuse it somewhere else on the page I'm building? I will appreciate any help, thanks.

  1. You're welcome πŸ˜†
  1. You could make a new box and put all your content to be duplicated into that box. With the box selected ctrl/cmd + C to copy / ctrl/cmd + V to paste. You can copy/paste into the same page, a different page in the same Webstudio project, or even into a different Webstudio project
Also if you want to keep your duplicate synced with the original you can use our slot components: https://webstudio.is/blog/slot-component
Thank you Mark 😊
