Integrate ecommerce sooner

I think there is a large untapped market share of ecommerce websites, agencies, and designers that would become Webstudio users if it offered an ecommerce solution. In that case, I think it should have a much higher priority on the roadmap.

We currently design Shopify templates on Webflow with Liquify. You have a huge opportunity here to offer better ecommerce websites with Webstudio's amazing performance scores and flexibility.

higher priority than what? would you postpone AI work in favour of ecommerce? do you know for sure that people will be excited about it?
  • There is no guarantee people will trust their ecommerce stores to a little known product. It may take years till adoption
  • Webstudio is for designers/devs that have pro-level skills and requirements. How many of little stores actually want to have full control and custom design vs. just picking a theme on shopify?
  • How many people who want full control and custom design would rather go with custom code development because they don't know they can actually do it with webstudio?
You can see that there is more than just numbers. You have to understand the exact market we are in.
That being said I have been wanting it since the beginning, but I keep delaying it because I don't think the time is now.
Might be later this year though.
Things like AI, versioning, improvements in core UX, Grid UI, Components might take priority
Great points. Too bad we don’t have exact numbers!
As someone who designs and manages 6-figure Shopify stores, I believe Webstudio could change the game by allowing faster, better, higher-converting stores with quicker time to market and lower development costs.
I don’t think there’s really anything like that out there. So yes, I would personally put it at the top of “up next”

I am with you here. I am just not sure there is enough people who would start building high converting stores on webstudio. Its a question of timing. We need to grow a bit more, make overall product experience better, launch a few other features that are blocking stuff.

Sort of, there are specialized shopify builders, they are simpler to use and less powerful but they are made for shopify. So I think primarily for you its about using your skill with webstudio and applying it to build the shop.

There are definitely other ways to do it in general.
