The post suggests that it may be beneficial to get the attention of people using the Discourse forum software, as Discourse still recommends installing it in a subdomain, which could suggest a need for an alternative homepage. The community member believes Discourse could benefit from the design functionality of webstudio, and that the API should work with the forum, which uses Markdown. The comments discuss the potential need for a custom design for Discourse, with some community members expressing satisfaction with the current Discourse themes, while others dislike the user experience. The discussion also covers the use of Discourse as a commenting system on external sites, and the possibility of integrating Discourse with other platforms like WordPress and Ghost. The main suggestion is to market webstudio to the Discourse community to gain traction and support.
It is used for integration of comments on wordpress if you are using wordpress as your main site and discourse as a commenting engine or forum with integration for commenting on blog posts.
The point is that people are using wordpress as a kind of main site.
The plugin has a gutenberg comments block also.
What would you recommend for comments with webstudio ?
we use Ghost as a bloging engine over api, I think we would enable comments there if we wanted them, otherwise I don't have a suggestion, maybe @John Siciliano has
I am not talking about a complete redesign of the ux of the Discourse forum at all. More like Discourse users getting a good alternative for their main site.
Yes, I know about that. I have mentioned it in this thread.
My suggestion is to point Discourse users to webstudio, also because of the api. It should also be easy to bind a discourse forum post or wiki to webstudio as a blog.
Why use ghost and Discord when you could just use Discourse ? Sure you have your reasons and they are not completely alike, I get that. Just saying....
Maybe read the original post again? Just get the attention of people using Discourse and sell/advertise/raise awareness about your product. That was the suggestion.
