Is there an available ARM docker image on Webstudio's GitHub?

At a glance

The community member is new to Docker and is trying to use a Linux/AMD image on their Apple Silicon device. The comments indicate that there is no Docker image for Webstudio, but the Webstudio builder is open source and can be run locally using containers. However, the community member is confused about the self-hosting options and the availability of the CMS features. The community members provide some clarification, explaining that Webstudio doesn't have its own CMS but integrates with other CMS platforms, and that self-hosting both the builder and the site is required to use the CMS features for free. There is no explicitly marked answer, but the community members discourage the community member from attempting to self-host the builder due to their current level of knowledge.

I've found a Linux/AMD image, however I am using an Apple Silicon device. I'm very new to Docker, so pardon me if it is right under my nose.

There is no docker image for webstudio. What exactly are you trying to do?
I'm trying to use the open source builder. Perhaps I'm doing this wrong:

I realized my mistake (there is no open source builder!). Not sure how I made that error, but it is what it is. πŸ™‚ I would have appreciated it if you had pointed out my error directly instead of - for lack of a better word - ignoring me. It helps enormously, even if it might be a bit embarrassing. Thank you for your support so far, and thank you for Webstudio!
Builder is open source
Being open source and providing a docker are not the same thing
we do have a dev container which we also use to develop builder
its all open source and documented
Right, thanks for clearing it up. I've been fumbling with the concepts, and it's been confusing me a little bit. I did realize this recently, a while after my inquiry, but I still must have used the wrong vocab (sorry!).
Okay, I am a bit confused again. I know self host is an option, and it (https://webstudio.is/cms) says that CMS is available at no cost when you self-host. However, how do you do utilize CMS for self-hosting when CMS options in the editor are locked on the free plan? This was partly the source of my confusion 17 days ago, since I thought there was a separate version of Webstudio that was completely unlocked, under the clause that self-hosting was the only deployment option.
  1. Webstudio doesn't have own CMS, when we say CMS its CMS integration
  2. Webstudio cloud requires Pro account for dynamic data and CMS integrations
If you want to build and host a cms-driven site for free you will have to selfhost both builder and the site
if you want to self-host the site only the you will have to get a pro cloud plan to build on webstudio cloud with cms integration
So, are you saying the Webstudio builder is available to use outside of the browser, on my own machine, self-hosted?
its possible to run it, we develop locally using containers
I personally wouldn't build this way but its possible
Its not outside of the browser though, its browser accessing local builder
I would discourage you to do any of this considering your state of knowledge. You will just get frustrated even more.
Is it just a matter of cloning the repository to my machine?
