also I don't know what "viewer" is
Yeah, the page is rendered well. As per my screenshot before, it's its view in Microsoft Clarity that is the problem
when i say viewer, i mean web user. You see the page just fine, not Clarity
sounds like shitty product with an outdated browser?
Elementor page is rendered as it's seen in your browser, no problem. That happens with webstudio only
Well I can't tell what that is, maybe elementor is using old css, just like clarity?
you could figure out what browser engine this uses and if there is a newer version
without proper engine information and being able to reproduce the problem in a proper browser, we won't be able to help
you can use posthog btw for heatmaps and session recordings too, I bet tere are several tools on the market that are not super old
from quick search it says: "The performance and compatibility of Microsoft Clarity depend on the browser engine used by the user's browser."
is it a browser extension or basically a webapp? that runs in YOUR browser?
that's microsoft's analytics platform with heatmap functionality, it's hosted on their website and I just use it in my browser; web app yeah
so its a site that runs in your browser and the webstudio site is just inside an iframe?
Ok I'll have a look at posthog thanks
haven't used it, so a standalone app?
that has a built-in browser?
it looks like this, seems like an iframe
so clarity itself is open in your browser and opens website inside an iframe
and in the same browser the standalone window of the site works fine?
yeah the page looks fine in any browser, I just found it looks like this when I wanted to see the heatmap
I'm not sure what you mean by standalone app, but it's like Google Analytics but made by Microsoft with other features
I didn't know much about it before I saw it was recommended for free heatmap analysis
just started using it yesterday
ok it seems to get the site open there I need to first add their tracking script for it to get a session recording
if you can share with me temporarily access I can look at it and maybe see whats going on oleg@webstudio.is
it may have to do with the visitor's browser from which you got that recording
well you can check at many diferent users sessions, and all of them look like this
let me share the access, thanks
turns out this is relatively new product, first launched in 2020
first thing I see. - they indeed render the original site in the iframe
but they inject tons of code into it
for example breaking images
for the live of mine I can't imagine what gave them this idea of injecting their UI in user's site
layout is fixed if you remove display: grid from the root
oh ok, what's recommended then? flex?
I'll see in the next days
