Localization and API

At a glance

The community member is doing R&D on Webstudio and wants to use it to design their company's marketing website. They have a few questions:

1. Is it possible to implement localization or multi-language support (e.g. English/Danish) in a static site built with Webstudio? They are looking for articles, documentation, or tutorials that confirm this is possible and provide examples.

2. Can they fetch data or content through an API from their backend software, which is built with Laravel?

3. Is it possible to self-host Webstudio?

In the comments, another community member responds that localization may require additional features, but they think it should be possible for a static site. They also confirm that Webstudio can work with any backend that provides a REST or GraphQL API.

Another community member asks if they can use Webstudio for free or in their local development environment, and if they need to do any customization or write any code. The response is that there are two options: 1) install Webstudio locally, or 2) choose the Pro Plan to use the features.

There is no explicitly marked answer in the comments.

Hi @faysal !

Good to see you are hype by Webstudio.

1/ About localisation I never tried but I think it need something else to achieve it dynamically (see the variable in Slot component on the roadmap). Concerning a static website I think it would not be a problem but if someone has more info and examples I’m interested too.

2/ no problem. Webstudio works with any backend with REST or GraphQL API

Hi thanks Milan, Can i do this for free or do it in my local development environment, should i do any customization or write any code for that?
2 options :
1/ you install WS locally and the feature is accessible

2/ You choose Pro Plan and you can use it (this is what I did)
