The community members are requesting a feature that would allow content editors to create new pages based on predefined templates, similar to the CMS collection pages in Webflow. This would enable them to maintain a consistent structure (e.g., header and footer) across pages, while still allowing them to customize the content using content blocks. The community members also want content editors to have access to page settings to set the page name, slug, and search information. Some community members discuss updating existing templates with content blocks, while others clarify that the request is for a new feature to create pages from templates. An issue has been created to track this feature request, and the community members express that this would be a valuable addition.
It would be great to have page templates for content editors. A bit like cms-collection pages in Webflow but without the cms. Content-editors would be able to add pages based on a predefined template (and content-blocks) and then change the content.
This way they would be able to create pages that follow the same basic structure (the same header and footer for example), but can be built out using content blocks.
The page template stays manageable in design mode though, so design changes there would apply to all pages based on it.
Content editors would have to get access to page settings to set the right page name, slug, search info etc.
I'm hearing from this request that they want a feature for a content editor to add a new page based on a template. Designer says heres a page template for an event then the editor can create a new page based on that template.
We discussed this before and wanted to do something like this IIRC
