Pulling Data from an Ecommerce Platform's API in Webstudio

At a glance

The community members are discussing the possibility of integrating an ecommerce platform's API data into Webstudio. They confirm that it is possible, but note that it would involve various actions and requests that need to be tested to ensure everything works as expected. One community member is specifically interested in using Bigcommerce as the backend and Webstudio as the frontend, in a headless solution. They want to know if Webstudio can accommodate this, including the ability to build dynamic product pages using templates. The community members indicate that this functionality is not yet fully implemented in Webstudio, but they are working towards it and hope to have it available soon.

is it possible to pull in and use data from an ecommerce platform through their API and use it within webstudio?

webstudio doesn't really care where the data comes from, it just needs an http endpoint and if the endpoint required access key then that
so yes its possible, but also ecommerce platform would involve a bunch of different actions and requests, so we need to see that all of it can work and nothing is missing yet
i'm currently working on a project where i'm utilizing bigcommerce, however looking for a headless solution which is why I'm back to exploring web studio. Ideally, I'll use bigcommerce as my backend and web studio as my front end. Just don't want to spend a whole lot of time tinkering around if web studio isn't at a place to accomodate a headless solution out of the box.
can web studio allow me to build template pages that can be used for each individual product so it's all dynamic?
i just went ahead and purchased lifetime T2 to support the project
This is grerat, yes we haven't started creating templates and experimenting with specific ecommerce backends yet, but we are getting close.
basically you want to build a single product page and then use it as a template for all products, right?
a few bits are missing to do that right now, but we will get there hopefully very soon
yes. i want to be able to build out the entire ecommerce experience. essentially a headless solution.
100% our goal here
sounds good. for now i'll work on creating a landing page.
