Recover slot contents

At a glance

A community member accidentally copied and removed the contents of a slot on one page, and now they have lost the original content. They tried using CMD+Z but it did not work. The community member has the correct version published, but they are unable to recover the lost content from the published version. Other community members suggest that there may not be a way to recover the lost content, as there is no UI for rollback functionality, and manually accessing the database could be dangerous. The community member will have to recreate the lost work, which they estimate will take 2-3 hours.

Hi, I made the mistake to copy over a slot to another page, then removing the contents of the slot and editing it in the new page. I now lost the contents of the slot. CMD+Z did not help. I do have the correct version published. Is there a way to recover?

cmd+z would help, I guess you reloaded the page in the meantime?

unfortunately no, can't recover from the published version

I will discuss with the team if we can build some short-term feature before we have full versioning/branching available. This is really not great.

No reload, CMD+Z worked for X clicks, then it did not do anything anymore. Well in that case, I will have to build it again.

That would indeed be really great! Luckily in my case it will take just 2/3 hours to fix.

I mean if you restored from published version you would have lost some other work too, no?

Yeah, but much easier work. The lost work takes much longer to recreate. And I copied the new version so I could paste it back

You are giving me some hope with that question 😆 is there a way for you to rollback my project?

in theory the data exists, but there is not UI for this, doing this manually in the database is dangerous and time intense
