Running Builder Locally: Troubleshooting Startup Packet Issues

At a glance

The community member is facing issues with running Builder locally and has tried various approaches without success. They have encountered an error message related to an "invalid length of startup packet" when loading http://localhost:5432/. The comments suggest that the community member should try using the wstd.dev domain instead of localhost, as the project may have recently switched to using that domain for local development due to SSL. One of the community members confirms that this solution works.

Hi!
It seems that I am not only one who has faced issues with running Builder locally. Still, I couldn’t find any solution for this issue in this chat.
I would appreciate if you could guide me through this issue.
Basically, I did follow all steps, and tried all different variants of running Builder locally. And every variant seems like has same issues.
I could detect only one issue when loading http://localhost:5432/ :
Plain Text
2024-08-31 10:50:53.332 UTC [1186] LOG: invalid length of startup packet

Still, it didn’t give me any clear pathway into solving the issue. Any idea why it is happening?

my local host outputs http://wstd.dev:5173/, maybe try that domain? with your port though
if you are running in container we made, then we recently switched to wstd.dev domain for local dev because of ssl
Yeah, it works!
