SEO Feature improvements

There are recommended lengths for the title and description fields. Could a character counter be added to each of them, along with a description of how to leverage the fields?

This is a low priority for me, I think it would be neat if it was added at some point.

This could work with dynamic values too.
I use this tool and they use width along with characters. What does webstudio currently use to truncate? https://mangools.com/free-seo-tools/serp-simulator
wdym what does it use? we tried to match how it will look like in the search, @Ivan Starkov did the research
are you calculating truncation based on width of the title or character count?
looks like it is based on size
Google truncation algorithm is unknown, we used few different titles etc from google search results and some simple algorithm https://github.com/webstudio-is/webstudio/blob/main/apps/builder/app/builder/features/sidebar-left/panels/pages/social-utils.ts
In test I used real google results
At that time that has very good percentage of full equality with google results
Same experience - I ended up using other SERP/SEO tools to see similar information. Would be useful to have for pretty much every single project!
Although now that I know the research and implementation that went into this, I probably wont use other tools
Let me know if we actually need to do anything there to make sure this question doesn't even come up in the first place.

Was our preview not trustwrothy or something ?
Idk maybe not seeing the logic going into it reduces the trust? Compared to a tool I use it provides more insights (and actually is styled like Google). maybe those are triggers for my brain to rely on it more

the indicator as you type showing how much is left is useful too both for knowing how much you have left and for signaling there's some logic in there
I see, the fact we are not showing the amount of chars makes you think we are not actually showing a realistic representation
to be fair, I didn't know if we are counting chars myself
I think its a very good thing to add and also super easy
In terms of my original post, I just thought it would be a cool improvement down the road. A way of educating users to help them produce high quality titles and descriptions.

I have zero issues with the current choices and think it's nice as-is. It shows a great representation.
It would work for both: more trust and education
