The Roadmap's Relevance: Navigating 2024 and Beyond

At a glance

The community members are discussing the relevance of the product roadmap, specifically the 2024 timeline. Some community members suggest that the 2024 column could be renamed to 2025, as the elements in "progress" and "next" may be completed by the end of 2024. Others note that the roadmap is a plan, not an exact execution calendar, and that priorities may change as problems are discovered or better ideas emerge. The community members also discuss the importance of communicating the short-term and mid-term plans effectively, and the order of the roadmap items. There is no explicitly marked answer in the comments.

Hello (again), is the roadmap still relevant ? 2024 list seems big for the few months lefts, shouldn't it be 2025 ?

no, 2024 was always more an intention
if the elements in "progress" and "next" are done in 2024, it's already good, don't you think the 2024 column can be renamed 2025 now ?
Wouldnt be better to reevaluate how to let people know about Webstudios shortterm to midterm plans? Because its quite sad (from my point of view as a Lifetime Pro plan owner) to see product roadmap which is not taken seriously.
Roadmap is the plan, it's not an exact execution calendar.

These things are complex and many are being decided and reprioritized as we discover problems or get better ideas.
Once the year is finished we will rename to 2025. There is still a plenty of time to work on something in 2024.
Btw I am always trying to sort the order in the columns in the order the things will likely come.
So the order is relevant in there
If you want to influence the order, add reactions on the issues that matter most
So positive, I like it ! If you can reach the 2024 column before the end of the year, I buy a beer to everybody in Webstudio 🍻
I like the order and already replied to related topic. I would personnally put the content editor experience just before animation engine cause I think developping a good animation engine will take looooooong time and editor experience is more important to me, but I'm ok to see them as the top 2
