Troubleshooting Disappearing Images in Layers Panel

A community member added an image with position absolute nested within a box, but the image suddenly disappeared from the layers panel, though it was still displayed. The community member had to delete the entire section they were working on as they had no way to remove the image. Other community members suggested trying the undo command, reproducing the issue to check for errors, and providing a video screen recording to better understand what happened. One community member noted that the issue has not occurred again since they started working on a new template.
for example. I added an image with position absolute nested within a box and for whatever reason the image has suddenly disappeared from the layers panels but it still displayed and I have no way of removing it which resulted in me having to delete the entire section i was working on.
i'll try and reproduce the issue and if i'm able to do so I'll check dev console to see if there are any errors and report back, along with seeing if undo command is functioning properly as well after the bug reoccurs
