Unpublish Website

At a glance

The community members are requesting an "unpublish" or "deactivate" option for their websites, instead of having to permanently delete them. They explain that this would be useful for various scenarios, such as when working with clients and payment is pending, or when setting up a website for demo purposes. The community members argue that an unpublish option would allow them to keep their work without using up their view limits or bandwidth, and they could easily publish the website again in the future. Some community members suggest implementing an overlay or other method to make the website temporarily unusable. The community members express that deleting a website permanently is not always the best solution, and they would like the option to unpublish and republish as needed.

The community members indicate that this feature is already on the roadmap, with a link provided to a related issue on GitHub.

Hello,

Kindly give us the option to unpublish a website without deleting completely, we should have the option to unpublish & publish,

Deleting is permanent, but we need something temporary to disable the website

Also, Publish/Unpublish Settings directly from the dashboard page ( just like we have options in the 3 dots menu on each project )
Is by any chance the reason for unpublishing primarily because you want google to not find it?
Not exactly, might be useful when running projects for clients, and payment is pending, so we can temporarily unpublish the website till payment is cleared
Oh I see, in that case what would help is putting an overlay or something
making sure its not usable basically
But why not an unpublish or deactivate option is possible ?
Is that really hard to implement ? Just a simple button ?
I am using another website builder, and that also have that option....
Also, we have limits on views as per plan, when unpublishing a website, it will not use our views limits if we disable it, but we don't want to delete it as we worked on it and might publish again in future
+ for example we may setup the website for demo purposes, publishing would allow the clients check, but if they don't want, we can unpublish it and keep it for future.... deleting permanently is also deleting our precious works
just didn't do it yet, no problem there
Sir, kindly give the option to users, let users decide when they need, it's not bad to have an extra control over our project
don't get me wrong I get it, its a good reason to have it, its all about priorities
It's my humble request, kindly try to implement, every time deleting is not the best solution, as we can't restore once deleted... Rather we may keep it Unpublish and keep it for future usage...at least it will not use our view usage or bandwidth till we publish again...
I hope to see some positive results in your decision πŸ™‚
Thank you πŸ™‚
Its already decided, we need this.
Thank you very much sir....
Still not added to the roadmap

More than a year, but no update on this basic functionality
