Update project code with caution: Backup and sync repo before upgrading.

At a glance

The community member has a self-hosted builder for their projects and is planning to update the code to the latest commit. They are seeking tips on being careful during the update and whether they need to keep backups. The comments suggest that the last commit was on Dec 1st, 2024, and one community member recommends duplicating the database before the update as a precaution. Another community member confirms that the update went smoothly, and suggests using a tool like Postico to backup the database.

Hi guys, I have a self-hosted builder for few projects that works perfectly. I am planning to update the code to the latest commit. Any tips to be careful about? Do I need to keep backups etc? Would love to sync my repo today

I want to ensure that the project continue to run after the upgrade

What was the last commit in builder?
I think nothing critical though yeah, you can always duplicate your database before updating
I went ahead and launched! Worked fine!

Duplicate database via the terminal? What the best way to keep the db backup?
I use postico
