UptimeRobot shows Webstudio sites as Down

At a glance

The community member is using UptimeRobot to monitor their websites, but the websites in Webstudio are shown as offline even when they are online. According to UptimeRobot's support, this is likely because the IPs used by UptimeRobot need to be whitelisted.

The community members discuss that the UptimeRobot IPs may be spamming with their requests and getting banned by Cloudflare's automatic bot protection. They suggest trying different monitoring frequencies and whitelisting the UptimeRobot IPs in the Cloudflare account if the domain is using Cloudflare's apex IP. The community members also mention that Cloudflare offers free monitoring that could be an alternative solution.

There is no explicitly marked answer, but the community members provide suggestions on how to resolve the issue, such as whitelisting the UptimeRobot IPs or using Cloudflare's monitoring service.

Useful resources
I'm using UptimeRobot (https://uptimerobot.com/) to monitor a number of sites. Websites in Webstudio are shown as offline even when they are online. According to their support it's likely that the IPs used by UptimeRobot need to be whitelisted.

Link to their IPs: https://uptimerobot.com/inc/files/ips/IPv4andIPv6.txt

Is this something the team can do or would I need to move to a different monitor?

Thanks!

probably uptimerobot ips are spamming with their requests and got banned
cloudflare has automatic bot protection, if they are making too many requests, they get banned
do you know how frequently they create a request for each site?
You can select different frequencies. I'm using 300s/5min which is probably not spammy but they support it as low as 30s.
once in 5 minuntes would be alright, but since others will make it higher and the protection identifies these as attack
especially since they may be coming with no identification headers and look like a bot
btw I think you can add monitoring in cloudflare directly
Yeah there are plenty of monitorng solutions but I like UptimeRobot as I use their API heavily. It's not that much of an issue I'll move the Webstudio sites to another service in the meantime but this might be something worth mentioning in docs because not everyone knows about IPs and whitelisting. If it's not possible to manually whitelist we can consider this thread as SOLVED.
btw have you tried isgning into your cloudflare account and seeing if you can whitelist them for you?
that is if you are using cloudflares apex ip
Oh that’s a great idea! But this domain is at spaceship.com right now. But the CloudFlare trick might work 🤔 .
I’ll try it later with another non essential domains.

thanks!
