Use custom domain on project cards instead of webstudio subdomain

At a glance

The community member who posted the original post is having trouble finding which project they have mapped their custom domain to, as they have a large number of projects and don't want to delete any "just in case". They suggest that it would be helpful if the domain listed on the project cards could be the custom domain used, rather than the default domain, to make it easier to identify which project the custom domain is mapped to.

The comments show that other community members agree with this suggestion, with one member stating that it would be useful just to be able to glance and see which projects are live. Another community member suggests that instead of showing the domain, the cards could display the site's featured image, which they believe would be easier on engineering and provide more flexibility as projects are turned into templates. This idea is supported by other community members, who suggest using the og:image as the displayed image.

Any chance we could change the domain listed on these cards to be the one used as a custom domain when a custom domain is applied?

Having trouble figuring out which project I mapped my domain to...

I acknowledged my dash/projects are a little messy, I'm one of those weirdos who refuses to delete anything "JUST IN CASE" I need it someday xD

But now I need to click through 50 projects to find which one is mapped to the domain, would be nice if I could just see it from the overview.

I agree on this. My use case is just kinda glancing to see which ones are actually live
I third this idea.
Are the reason for cards because it’ll show a captured shot of the website in the future?
yeah, that's the plan
Oh idea, I talked about this with Taylor I think a while back. Can we just make the cards display the sites featured image instead?

I assume this would be easier on engineering, also makes it so people get more flexibility when we start turning projects into tenplates
We could show og:image
yeah that's exactly what i was thinking 🙂
Yeah, that's a great option, even better, it will remind people to upload one, which is great for socials
