Vimeo component with Background toggled doesn't loop the video

At a glance

The post indicates that in the Vimeo component Settings, enabling Background mode does not enable looping of the video, and the video only plays once. The user has to explicitly enable Loop to have the video loop.

The comments suggest that autoplay is also not activated by Background mode automatically. Community members express that they don't see much value in Background mode, as individual settings can be used to control these features, and Background mode is just a shortcut that makes things more confusing, especially without a UI that visually changes other settings accordingly. Some community members think Background mode should be removed or hidden, and a pull request is mentioned where this mode will be gone in the next version. Overall, the community members recommend not using Background mode and instead toggling the individual options needed.

yeah, seeems like autoplay is also not activated by background mode automatically
on the second thought, I don't actually see much value in background mode, one can decide with individual settings all these things and backgroundmode is effectively just a shortcut and makes this a little more confusing ...
especially without a UI where when you turn on background mode, other settings visibly change as accordingly
I think it needs to be removed/hidden
tldr don't use it, toggle the other options you need, mode will be gone in the next version
This sounds reasonable to me. Thanks
Could you please add the option to toggle 'autopause' on/off? This is preventing multiple video's on the same page to autoplay (only one will play, the rest is paused).
I am not sure you can do this on the web at all, have you seen a working example of this?
Do you mean playing multiple vimeo video's at the same time? Yes it's possible. Here's an example: https://www.slem.nu/werk/schuur
hmm indeed looks like its playing multiple at the same time. The thing is we don't have autopause at all. No such thing in webstudio is implemented. Not sure what's causing it to pause as you say it, I didn't test
It's because you have to set it specifically to '0' (so in the vimeo link you can add: ?autopause=0). It could be a switch in Webstudio the same as 'autoplay' or 'loop'
turns out its already there
you can just add it

That's awesome! It was completely unclear to me I could somehow add more properties to this. Good to know and thanks for your quick response!
Probably my not-so-technical background. 'Properties & Attributes" doesn't immediately speak to me as being something where more functionality for the vimeo-block can be added.
Not sure if it's good to add here but another feature request regarding vimeo; Could the vimeo-url be editable in content mode? So I can provide a content editor with a video-content-block he/she can add to a page and then fill in the vimeo-link?
just tried, indeed seems like those properties are not available in content mode
Would be great if it could be added. Thanks again!
