Webhook Form

At a glance

A community member is having issues with the Webhook Form component in Webstudio, where they consistently get an error message when submitting the form. They have tried various troubleshooting steps, including reading the documentation, watching tutorials, and creating a new project with an unmodified Webhook Form. The issue persists even on the published website.

Other community members have tested the form and found it to be working. The issue seems to be specific to the original poster's setup, as it works on different computers and browsers. However, another community member is experiencing a similar issue where the form data is not being sent to the webhook, despite receiving email notifications from Webstudio.

The community members have tried various webhook services, such as make.com, integrator.boost.space, and pabbly, but none of them have been able to receive the form data. The community members have suggested trying a clean new webhook form, recording a video to troubleshoot the issue, and reviewing the process of using the automation tools.

There is no explicitly marked answer, but the community members have provided suggestions and troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.

Hi,

I've encountered an issue with the Webhook Form component. I'm new to Webstudio and I'm not sure if I'm making a mistake.

When I click the submit button on my form, I consistently get the "Sorry, we encountered an error" message. Here's what I've already tried:

  1. I've thoroughly read the documentation on the website
  2. I watched the YouTube tutorial videos
  3. I properly set my email address in the project settings
  4. I ensured each text input has a proper name attribute
  5. I even created a brand new project with an unmodified Webhook Form to test
The issue persists even on the published website. I always get the same error message regardless of what I try.

Here is the link to my blank project with the Webhook Form: https://p-20626115-2714-4a9a-a884-40f1a93b8a34.apps.webstudio.is/?authToken=928f35b5-bece-49c5-be92-b9dcc004a64b&mode=preview

Thanks in advance for your help!

I tested it on another computer and it worked perfectly as well @Jeremy , thanks a lot ๐Ÿ‘
Are you testing on the url or on the "play" version of the builder?
Everytime i test on the url, not on the builder
And i checked right now and when i go on another browser it's good (chrome instead of brave)
i have an issue with the form, but mine is that data doesn't get sent to the webhook anymore.

i get emails each time, and i've swapped hooks just to make sure it wasn't that and nothing comes through. i'm using boost.space integrator which is basically make.com.

oh, and the "success" state was a recent change to see if that was the issue. its usually on "initial"
have you tried with a clean new webhook form to ensure nothing was broken on your side?
i'll try that next.
Pink binding color means you temporary changed value to test success message. After reload it will be back to initial.
Thanks you for this, I saw what you meant
so i tried that and the result is still the same, just an email notifying of submission from WS.
you get an email about submission from webstudio?
but no data submitted on your service?
Sounds like something is wrong with how your service wants to receive that data or even potentially your settings there
yeah, i'm checking it. i seem to get a payload from the chatbot i tested it with, but none from WS. which is funny, because i think it worked, literally, one time before when i was initially setting it up.
So far, Iโ€™ve tried webhooks from make.come, integrator.boost.space and I just tried with pabbly.

No webhook picked up anything. Not since that one time in the beginning of all of this.
Not sure if this helps, but if you record a video where you go from scratch we could see what you a e doing wrong
Another option for you is take one of our videos that shows how to use one of the automation tools we tested with and make sure you understand the process
Here is how webhook forms work: they take form data and send it to the action url you provided. There is nothing special about it, super simple process. If it works with any of the webhooks then it works with every other service. Most likely you didn't enable it on that service.
so I know its been a while, but I finally was able to revisit this, but as I was recording, I noticed it's been completely functional.

Did anything change since 3/22?
