Webstudio Cloud on root domain, other application on subdirectory ?
At a glance
The community member is wondering if it is possible to deploy Discourse on a subdirectory (e.g., mydomain.com/community) of their root domain, which is currently pointing to a Webstudio site. They are using Coolify to deploy applications on a VPS and are aware that Coolify allows deploying to subdirectories with the right proxy settings.
The comments suggest that setting up the routing and DNS management, potentially using Cloudflare, could be a solution. However, some community members indicate that they have tried various approaches, including using workers and reverse proxies, but were not successful in getting it to work properly. One community member suggests using a subdomain instead, which they say they were able to get working.
The community member who originally posted expresses that their goal was to unify the domain and use Ghost as a CMS without having to rebuild the front-end, and that splitting between the root domain and a subdomain is not ideal for their business needs.
There is no explicitly marked answer in the comments.
Knowing that my root domain points to a Webstudio site (cloud version), is it still possible to deploy Discourse, for example on mydomain.com/community subdirectory ? I use Coolify to deploy applications on VPS. Coolify allows you to deploy to subdirectories with the right proxy settings (Traefik), but I wonder if it will work in tandem with Webstudio.
did not succeed finally. I tried with workers, with reverse proxy, but at the end it never works properly. I get the help of a pro who did not succeed either. I guess it is possible but extremely technical actually.
Yes indeed I succeeded with subdomain. But my objective was to unify domain, using ghost as cms without having to rebuild the front. Splitting betwwen root and subdomain is not really good when you are starting a business.
