Will I be able to use core framework with the upcoming CSS Variables ?

It is used in wordpress both in the gutenberg editor and has integration with bricks builder for ease of use. Would be practical to have a cross builder stylesheet-generator for the basics.

Would I be able to use the in the style panel with the upcoming CSS Variables if I just put them into Webstudio - with auto-suggest and so on ?

Would have to look into it more specifically, but generally we do want to enable pasting regular CSS and we are not far away from that + variables.

That does sound like you could bring any css librray into webstudio.

you can very easily generate a lot including color palette and gradients
