I'm not sure where I put my vars! Would be nice to have a little indication on the component in the navigator indicating it has vars in the settings

Yeah I'm open for whatever solution and hear you about keeping things simple in the nav. A filter would be cool. Probably other use cases as well

I think this filter would be a way to find quite literally anything on the page, because navigator represents all instances in the page

It could be useful to have a few common filters that are quickly accessible somehow, without having to scroll through a dropdown.

maybe combobox would be a good fit here, has both a menu button and autocomplete
