Tokens Manager

At a glance

A community member shared a video about a token manager and suggested the team consider it during the scoping phase. Other community members expressed interest and discussed the plans for a token manager or "variables manager" feature. While the roadmap mentions a "variables manager", it's unclear if that refers to a full token manager. The community members are interested in having a way to manage all design tokens, similar to features in other tools like Webflow. The team indicated they will decide on the token manager feature soon.

Hey Alex, I know there's talk about a token manager type thing... I just saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yFO8hIVi8Q and it looks pretty cool. If you guys are still in the scoping phase, maybe it would be worth looking at for some infulence.

This is cool.

Thanks for sharing @Jeremy

@Oleg Isonen What do you think? At a glance, I'm a big fan 🙂
Lots of things to discuss there
@Oleg Isonen do you plan to have a token manager? 🙂
There's more info about plans for the tokens manager here: https://docs.webstudio.is/university/foundations/design-tokens
Read the Coming Soon section at the bottom of that page in the docs
Thanks Bryan. I’d like to know if it’s plan soon. I don’t see token manager in the roadmap. That’s why I’m asking 🙂
My bad, it's the "variables manager" on the roadmap. It's plan for next months
I think the "variables manager" on the roadmap is actually CSS variables. I don't see the token manager on the roadmap yet.
We will decide on it soon.
It would be great to have access to all tokens in order to manage them (like Webflow did with classes even if the feature could be improve)!
I am considering to make it part of the search ui
Instead of separate token manager
